    Tae Kwon Do

    The instructor is Sandi Stricker  She has been in Tae Kwon Do for over 20 years
    and has been an instructor for over 10 years.

    Classes are held on Tuesdays at the Rec. Center!

    Next session will be in the fall!

    Tiny Tigers
    (ages 3 to 6/7 years)
    6:00 to 6:30 p.m.

    Advanced
    (ages 7 to 12 years)
    6:45 to 7:30 p.m.

    Tae Kwon Do
    (ages 12 years through adult)
    7:45 to 8:45 p.m.

    FEE:
    $5 per week or $30 per 8 week session
    (walk ins welcome but class size is limited)

     

     

  • Indoor Cycling

     

    Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8 am
    with certified spinning instructor Brenda Axman.

    BRENDA HAS ADDED A NEW SUMMER INDOOR CYCLING CLASS!
    This class will begin on June 2nd from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and will be held every Saturday in
    June, July, and August (unless otherwise posted)!

    FEE: $5 per class for non members and members that have not
    purchased the *fitness package

    fitness package is $40 per person per month for members
    (this is for unlimited use for any and all fitness classes)

    Indoor cycling, as an organized activity, is a form of exercise with classes focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity and recovery, that involve using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting. Using the stationary bikes makes it easy for you to participate in the class but at your own pace. With positive energy from your instructor, this form of workout is designed to tone your muscles, burn calories, and is good exercise for your heart.

    Kim Gadwood no longer works for RRC. We wish Kim and her family well as they embark on their new adventure!

     

  • Zumba/Aqua Zumba

    Join Megan Koetkemeyer, certified Zumba instructor, for a fun and effective workout that combines Latin and international music!

    Mondays & Thursdays
     6:00 p.m. @ the Rec. Center

    Aqua Zumba
    Mondays and Wednesdays @ 7:15 p.m. at the city pool.
    Beginning on Monday, June 4th!

  • Walk Fit

    Join Tina Lamar and walk away the weight! This class involves mostly walking with low impact aerobic exercises and some kick boxing. It will help you lose weight, lower your blood pressure, ease stress, help you sleep, and your heart will get stronger!

    This fitness class is for ANYONE! ALL AGES are welcome!

    Tuesdays @ 6:00 p.m. & Thursdays @ 7:00 p.m.

    All classes are held at the Rec. Center.

  • Open Gym

    Open Gym will resume in October!

    Open Gym is for ANYONE (you do not have to be a member) ages 9 & up.

    The gym is supervised on Sundays by Lizzy Rhodes from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

    There is no charge for open gym.

    This program runs from October through March.

     

  • Open Archery

    1:30 to 3:00 pm @ the Rec. Center

    Open archery is for anyone that has taken the archery clinic through Russell Rec. There is no fee.

     

  • Instructors Needed

    We want to bring in many new programs through the RRC and I need your help.
    Anyone interested in teaching any projects to the community such as sewing classes, painting, drawing, etc
    or if you have a talent or hobby and want to share it

The deadline for most of our activities is on a Friday!!

You will notice something about our entry deadlines; most of the time they are on Friday. We are doing this in an effort to promote deadlines more efficiently, prevent late registrations, and to develop successful programs.

Most dates and times are set, but this schedule is tentative and can change. If there are changes to  programs offered by the Russell Recreation Commission we will try to post them on here, on our Facebook page or on the KRSL website.
